Privacy policy — ClipPhrase
Last updated: 26 October 2026 · Applies to ClipPhrase only
What this app stores on your PC
ClipPhrase keeps a clipboard history, saved snippets and settings in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ClipPhrase. Text, images and copied file lists are recorded there so they can be shown in the panel.
Images stay as local files. Text recognition (OCR) and QR decoding run on your own CPU — the image is never uploaded.
Nothing in that folder is transmitted anywhere. Deleting the folder removes everything the app has stored.
What is never collected
- No account, no sign-in and no user identifier.
- No telemetry, crash reporting or usage analytics.
- No advertising SDK, and no third-party network requests.
- Content flagged by password managers as excluded from clipboard monitoring (KeePass and similar) is skipped and never written to history.
Network access
The application makes no network requests. It works fully offline and does not check for updates through its own servers; updates arrive through the Microsoft Store.
Your controls
- Pause recording at any time; existing entries stay until you delete them.
- Delete single entries, clear the history, or set retention by days or item count.
- Export all data to a readable file at any time — this feature is free.
- Turn the app off or uninstall it; local data is removed with the app.
Purchases
The full version is a one-time in-app purchase processed by the Microsoft Store. Payment details are handled entirely by Microsoft; the developer receives only aggregate sales reports and never sees your payment information.
Children
The application is a general-purpose desktop tool, is not directed at children, and collects no data from anyone.
